The Mahasabha was established in the year 1911 at Dharwar (then in Bombay province). In the initial stages the Mahasabha working was restricted to Karnataka and Maharashtra. During the last century, it has made efforts to diversify the activities and to different states. The Mahasabha took a shape of pivotal organization of Bhavsar community, during the conference of Mahasabha at Dharwar in 1963. The main objectives of the Mahasabha since its inception have been to organize the community where ever they are staying and to give impetus to then samaj work. It has been successful so far in establishing it’s identity in over eight states in India. We also have a couple of institutions affiliated to Mahasabha from abroad. AIBK M has been lead by committed past presidents during these years.

All Bhavsar Sansthas, institutions, committees or Organizations, functioning at the local places shall be eligible for institutional life membership and they duly recommended by state Unit on payment of following fees:
Category A : Rs 1000 for Sansthas located in a places where there are 301 and more Bhavsar houses.
Category B: Rs 500 for Sansthas located in a places where there are 101-300 Bhavsar houses.
Category C: Rs 250 for Sansthas located in a places where there are not exceedind 100 Bhavsar houses.
Sansthas admitted above as are called ‘Affiliated Sansthas ‘shall be eligible to nominate number of delegates mentioned below for representation in the general body meeting and for election of the president of Mahasabha and for election of State president.
Institutions other than the those specified above such as federations, State level Organizations (expecting those created by Mahasabha) shall be admitted on application made in the prescribed from on payment of fee of Rs.500/- and they shall be entitled to nominate, five delegates for representation in the general body meeting, election of the president of Mahasabha and for election of State President.
- Any individuals Bhavsar who pays a sum of Rs.5000/- to Mahasabha shall become the patron member of Mahasabha.
- Any individuals Bhavsar who pays a sum of Rs.2000/- to state Unit shall become the patron Member of the state.
- Patron members and honorary members have the privilege to receive the invitations to the respective general body meetings/ Adhiveshan. However they shall not be entitled to any voting rights.
Admission of Membership
The President of the mahasabha shall be entitled to admit the members under the above categories provisionally and the working committee shall ratify the admission of the membership. In case the working committee in not being convened nor held before the due date of elections, the core committee shall be entitled to ratify the admission of the membership under this article. Sansthas functioning at least for a period of 3 years are eligible for admission /affiliation as member. Sansthas should intimate any changes to their office bearers and address period of two months from the date of change.
